Family Meal Plans

What Goes Into Your Family Meal Plan

This isn't a diet plan for the parents and a separate meal plan for the athlete. It's one plan, built around one dinner table, where everyone eats together. The athlete fuels for performance, the parents eat to lose weight, without anyone cooking two separate meals.

This Is Not a One-Size-Fits-All Plan

Most "family" meal plans either feed everyone the same thing, which is wrong for an athlete who needs to fuel, or split the house into two kitchens, which is exhausting for the parent cooking it. Neither works for a real house with a training schedule, a job schedule, and a school schedule all fighting for the same evening.

I build every family plan around one dinner, cooked once, split two ways. BBQ night just got easier. The athlete gets the pulled pork on a bun with sauce, slaw, and pickles. The parent gets the pulled pork with light sauce over the slaw and pickles, no bun. One pan. One prep session. Two outcomes.

How It Works

From Intake to the Dinner Table

1

Comprehensive Household Intake

One form for the whole family covering every parent and athlete's stats, goals, training schedule, work schedule, food preferences, and allergies. Everyone's numbers, all in one place.

2

Calorie & Macro Targets for Every Person

Calories and macros are calculated individually for each household member using the Mifflin-St Jeor equation, adjusted for training volume for the athletes and for weight-loss goals for the parents.

3

One Meal, Built Two Ways

Every dinner is designed once, then split into an athlete performance version and a parent cut version using the same base recipe and the same prep with different portions and swaps. Breakfasts are batch-prepped on Sunday. Lunches use planned dinner leftovers to keep cooking to a handful of nights a week.

4

A 4-Week Plan, Fully Mapped

Four weeks of dinners on rotation, a shopping list broken into weekly trips so nothing goes bad in the fridge, and a prep guide that shows exactly what to batch on Sunday. Everyone's schedule, even four different clocks in the same house, is built in from day one.

Why This Approach Works

Most families don't fail at healthy eating because they lack willpower. They fail because dinner has become two jobs: one meal for the athlete who needs to eat big, and a second meal for the parent trying to lose weight. That's not sustainable, and it usually means somebody eats separately, or somebody just doesn't eat right.

When the whole house eats the same meal, cooked once, portioned for each person's actual goal, dinner stops being a daily negotiation. Consistency goes up. The parent doing the cooking gets their evening back. The athlete still eats to perform.
